HYC CREW AND CHEERLEADERS (Huntingdon)
The Huntingdon Youth Centre brings you a track named 'Oh Maybe One Day'. This impressive piece of music was written (and will be performed) by a young person named 'O', with support from HYC singers, dancers, and animation by Shadrack and friends. The performance pulls together a vibrant and hugely diverse group of Huntingdon's young people, including HYC's brand new Cheerleading group - the HYC Squad - who are very excited to be opening the performance.
RAMSEY YOUTHEATRE (Ramsey)
The Ramsey Youtheatre Group have been working on a pantomime production of the Wizard of Oz for nearly a year. They have been involved in adapting the script, choosing costumes, make-up, painting scenery and designing the set, as well as directing the production! An amazing achievement by the young people involved, of which they can be extremely proud.
B CLUB BOYS GROUP
ELY HIGH BARNS GIRLS GROUP (East Cambs/Fenland)
The B CLUB boys' group initially formed to promote dancing to males, and challenge the stereotype that "dancing is for girls". They performed at the Locality Show and SADS (Song and Dance Show) 2007. The group has since split into singing, dancing and breakdancing sections. This was due to a large number of the B Club showing a keen interest in singing and breakdancing. They will be represented at the 'Pump It Up' event by a soloist; Jack.
The High Barns Girls is a very new group, which has been running for two terms only, and is aiming to perform at the SADS 2008 show at the Sutton Royal British Legion in July. They have already put together a great dance routine, which they performed at the Locality Show 2007.
STREETS DRAMA GROUP (Cambridge)
ASBO Awards was a short play written by a group of young people and Tom Fell, as part of the STREETS SB awareness days at Linton Village College and Swaston Village College. The play looks at how young people can see an ASBO as a badge of honour.
SSSHHH DANCE (Cambridge)
Ssshhh! Dance company was set up by young people of Netherhall and the youth service over 4 years ago. They've devised and performed many pieces over this time and are currently completing the Silver level of their National Arts Award. For PUMP IT UP 2008 they will be collaborating with a visiting youth group from Cologne, Germany and performing together to create the 'Pump It Up' Finale. This is an fantastic opportunity to work cross-culturally, and Ssshhh Dance Company hope the German youth will have a very positive experience at the event.
