Now personally I was quite apprehensive about the latest instalment in the 007 series. Mainly because I was a huge Pierce Brosnan fan and rate Goldeneye as one of my all time favourite Bond movies. This may have something to do with the fact that it spawned the greatest multiplayer game N64, but nevertheless Goldeneye was a classic.
However as the new film started moving along, it became apparent it possessed all the traditional Bond aspects in abundance. The opening was gritty and dark and showed the becoming of James Bond as he amassed his two kills, gaining his 00 status. The amazing scene with Bond chasing a terrorist through the streets of Madagascar was classic edge of your seat stuff, and after only 15 minutes Daniel Craig had me convinced he was the right man for the job.
The film was perfectly paced and the abnormal duration of it did not seem a problem. Before I finish I feel I must pre warn you, particularly all you men, about one torture scene that made me place my pop corn firmly away.
Overall this is a must see, and although you may of missed the chance witness it on the big screen, don’t let another day go by without watching this!
Best Bit: The very cool ending where Daniel Craig officially announces himself to the world.
Rating: 4.5 out of 5, A Royal Treat!!!
