Integrate - Are you a 16-25 year old with disabilities?
- Do you want to be part of a project to increase understanding of the issues faced by young people with disabilities?
- Do you want to take part in changing people's views?
- Do you want to meet new friends, increase your skills and gain confidence?
If YES! Then we have volunteering opportunities for you to be part of a fun and exciting project.
You will be involved in designing workshops for schools to make them more aware of the problems and issues people with disabilities are faced with and the possibility of taking part in a buddies project.
There are lots of different ways you can conribute to Integrate. Here is an outline of the roles which are available:
Consultation team:If you are unable to attend the meetings, we can visit you and you can instruct us what issues you have and what you would like the workshops to be about. It might be things like bullying, transport, social activities etc.
Campaigner (short-term) – Your role is to take part in fun meetings, discuss issues, meet new friends, have group discussions, to plan, to design, do art and crafts and make the workshops.
Deliverer (part-time) – This role is for someone that would feel confident acting and talking in front of a large group in schools. This person’s role is to follow the ideas of the campaigner and deliver the workshops to an audience.
Buddy (Various hours) - This will be starting towards the end of the year around August – December. This role is to take part in social activities with a buddy of the same age who doesn’t have learning disabilities. You can volunteer to do this as well as being a consulter, campaigner or deliverer.
