Emergencies
Dial 999 or 112 when:
- Lives are at risk / violence / serious injury
- Serious crime is happening
- Criminal still at the scene or nearby
The police operator will need to take your name, address and details of what has happened. This will take time, but it is important to get all of the information from you so that we can send the appropriate resources to you if necessary.
Otherwise, always call 101.
General Phone Enquires
To report less urgent crime or disorder, to contact the police with a general enquiry or to speak to a local officer, dial 101.
101 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system is smart and will identify where you are calling from and connect you with the local police for that area.
