Here are some simple do's and don'ts to help you out.
Do
Keep your password private - if you think someone knows your password change it straightaway.
Agree with your parents/carers what sort of sites you will be visiting.
Tell someone you trust if you are worried about someone or something from the internet.
Be careful about chatrooms you enter - if anything or anyone makes you feel uncomfortable, leave immediately.
Don't
Tell anyone your address, email, phone number or school name.
Email a photo of yourself - people you meet on the web may not be who they say they are.
Arrange to meet someone you've met online. If you do, make sure you take an adult with you and meet in a public place.
