Robyn Wilton, 16, from Cambridge, turned graphic designer when she ‘took over’ in the Connexions information and marketing team on Friday for 11 Million Takeover Day.
11 Million Takeover Day is organised by the Children’s Commissioner for England, Sir Al Aynsley-Green and the aim is for organisations across England to allow children and young people inside for a day so they can get involved and get an insight into the decision-making processes which affect their daily lives.
Robyn, a student at Long Road, went to the Connexions office in St Ives and came up with ideas for bus advertising. Robyn’s ideas will be used in a Connexions advertising campaign on buses around Cambridgeshire in December and January.
Gavin Walklate, graphic designer for Connexions, said: “It’s really important for us to get input and feedback from young people as much as possible. Connexions is their service and it’s important they are allowed to shape it.”
Robyn adds: “It’s been nice to put ideas forward and given me an insight into a potential future career. It’s good that Connexions is so willing to take ideas from young people on board.”
