17/04/2018 Where can I complete functional skills?

18/04/18 - Male, 19 :

I did my GCSE's in 2015 and failed my English Literature and English Language, I started an apprenticeship in September 2016 which made me do English Functional Skills Level 2. I managed to complete and pass my Reading and Writing at Level 2, but wasn't allowed to complete my Speaking and Listening part of the course so therefore could not complete the whole course. Is there anywhere I could complete just the Speaking and Listening assessment so I can gain my Functional Skills Level 2 Certificate in English?

Thanks for your message.

It’s great to hear that you are keen to complete the qualification.  It may be a good idea to contact the place that you completed the reading and writing elements of the course, so see if you can complete the qualification through them.

I can see that you are 19, so if that’s not an option that is available to you, I would suggest getting in touch with one of Cambridgeshire County Councils learning centres to see if they can offer you the speaking and listening elements of the course.  There are many learning centres across Cambridgeshire.

Cambridge - 01223 728512 • Ely - 01353 616160 • Huntingdon - 01480 372736 • March - 01354 754764 • Wisbech - 01354 750173
