Engineering Apprentice Programme

£13,500 rising to £24,500 in year 4.

Job Description:

This company is one of Europe's leading power generation companies. This Apprentice Programme is a scheme lasting 4 years, in which you will gain a sound understanding of the technical and practical skills required to be one of our highly skilled craft specialists of the future. You will undertake a programme of training and development at some of the UK's leading power generation plants and at their dedicated Training Academy at Ferrybridge in Yorkshire where you will benefit from the support of experienced power industry professionals and training specialists. On successful completion of the scheme you will have the skills and qualifications to apply to be a craftsperson at one of our power stations in their specialist maintenance teams. YEAR 11's may apply - as job starts September 2019.


A four year training programme - Years 1 and 2 you will gain Years 1 and 2: Block release Level 3 Diploma at a college, PEO Performing Engineering Operations at college and Technical Skills course at Ferrybridge Training Academy. In years 3 and 4 - You will spend the majority of your time at one of their Power Stations developing competencies in your chosen specialism together with further technical skills training at Ferrybridge Training Academy. Equivalent to one day a week training.


You must have a minimum 5 GCSE's A*- C or grades 4-9 including Science, Mathematics and English. You will have an inquisitive and analytical mind-set making you a great problem solver. You will have a desire to learn, and further develop your skills. You will be highly motivated with a can-do attitude, enabling you to work independently. You will be a fantastic team-player with exceptional communication skills. You will take initiative, are conscientious and committed. You have a passion for the energy industry.


This is an excellent opportunity to complete an Engineering Apprenticeship. On successful completion of the scheme you will have the skills and qualifications to apply to be a craftsperson at one of their power stations in their specialist maintenance teams.

Additional Information:

15th March 2019. All expenses to attend college will be paid by the company while you are away from home. 2 opportunities available. Benefits: Company Pension Scheme, Private Medical Benefits and Gym Membership.
